Restaurants Need a Mobile Website

Mobile Marketing Plans for Restaurants include SMS Marketing, Mobile Websites and Mobile Apps

Mobile websites for restaurants are becoming a necessary to attract and bring in diners who use mobile devices. Mobile technology is so widely used, with usage only growing, that it now takes a leading role in consumer searches for products and services, including food services.

According to The Nielsen Company, smartphone use in the U.S. now comprises more than 40% of mobile phone use, and that number is only rising every year. Companies who recognize that smartphone use, as well as the use of tablets and other mobile internet devices, is soon going to be the number one way that people access the internet, would do well to take advantage of that recognition. This includes restaurants.

Nielsen’s watch of 5,000 mobile volunteers in the U.S. showed that mobile websites are more utilized by consumers than mobile apps. We can safely assume that an on the go diner who must download a restaurant’s app in order to view the online offerings probably won’t take the time to do so. A restaurant with a mobile website that can be readily accessed by a smartphone user is going to come out ahead of the one with an app, or the one whose website is not optimized for mobile viewing.

Morgan Stanley estimates that by the year 2015, more people will access the internet via mobile than via PC. This is another important reason for a restaurant to have a mobile website. As more and more people are able to access the internet while on the go, mobile websites will only become more important for gaining and keeping customers.

Mobile websites for restaurants allow diners to be spontaneous. Those who are on the go and decide they need somewhere to eat can search for restaurants nearby, access that restaurant’s menu, specials, and even book a table without having to be tied to home. A restaurant’s mobile website can offer special coupons and deals for mobile users that other users can’t access. It can also allow mobile users to sign up for text message deals and keep them coming back.

Mobile website design doesn’t have to be as hard and time-consuming as it sounds. There are many mobile website builders who make it easy for restaurants to start taking advantage of their on the go consumers.

One such mobile website developer is DudaMobile (Check out our Dudamobile Reviews). At DudaMobile any company or restaurant can make their website mobile in as little as one click.
